–The 7th grade Chix football team played well at home last night and beat Grand Haven 44-12.  Brady White began the night scoring with his first of 3 rushing touchdowns and Tyler Loeb added two more touchdowns on the ground.  Austin Keur connected on an 80 yard touchdown pass before halftime to Trevor Raade.  Isaiah VanDeBurg continued to kick the ball exceptionally well and converted 4 extra point attempts. The defense was led by Kobe Windeler making plays all night and Colton Gordillo and Carter Johnson getting sacks for a loss.  Next week Wednesday, the 7th grade Chix football team travels to Jenison.  Last night the 8th grade Chix lost to Grand Haven. –Cross country competed in Grand Haven yesterday,  aka the land mosquitoes and bees.  Although the mosquitoes drained us of blood and the humidity tried to drain the team of energy racers gave it their all against stiff competition and a hilly tough course.  Will Posthumus was able to race a personal record despite the challenging course and Dylan Veltema held his composer despite being stung by a bee.  The ladies also did a great job fending of the Blood Sucking Creatures of the Woods and all ran strong.  A special shot out to Anna Gronevelt who ran a great first meet since recovering from an injury and Brynn Geerlings whose final push at the end showed outstanding effort.  Great Job to all the runners!
