–The 7th Grade girls soccer team won their game last night against a tough Grandville team with a score of 2-1. Mallory Roberts came up with two big time assists to Talia Esposito who scored both goals. Rielly Zegunis played a great game in the goal and captain Lauren Walcott led a solid defensive effort to limit the Grandville attack.

–The Club Softball team split a doubleheader with Allendale last night.  The team’s hard work is starting to pay off.  The team had 31 hits last night.  Ashlyn Mendelsohn had an inside the park home run in game one, and ended the night going 3-4 at the plate.  The pitchers worked hard last night, battling the wind and cold.  Ella Hathaway had a great game behind the plate catching and with her bat at the plate. Melina Paul was 3-3, Jaiden Lee was 4-5, and Katie Carlson went 5-6 on the night.  The bats are really starting to come alive.  Our next game is home on Monday vs Byron Center.

Athletic Physicals April 19
ZPS will be hosting a pre participation physical exam (PPE) night on Thursday, April 19 at Shoreline Orthopaedics in Holland. This event serves as an affordable option for prospective 6-12th grade athletes to receive a physical exam required to participate in MHSAA athletics. The PPE is $15 and cash only. No health insurance of any kind is required to attend. The PPE is not intended to replace a more thorough annual physical provided by a primary care physician.

No appointment is necessary but time slots have been assigned to cut down on wait times. Please bring a printed PPE form with the first two pages completed.

Time slots are based on the last name with the letters:
A-E:  6:00 – 6:30 pm

—-SPORT SIGN-UPS:  New this year,  all signups will be done online in the Final Forms www.zeeland-mi.finalforms.com. Parents and students need to register once a year for all your sports you will be playing or think you might want to play. Please check your mail/spam mail for confirmation once you have originally signed into Final Forms to confirm your account.  You can also link Final Forms through the cityside.zps.org website under athletics, or you may pick up a hard copy of the Final Forms instructions by the CBC room or in the office at Cityside. Like in the past,  we need a current 2017-2018 physical dated from the doctor after April 15 of current year to be eligible for all sports. Thank you!

–Any message needing to get to a student must be received by 1:15pm.  We call students down at the beginning of their 6th hr during announcement so we are not disturbing classroom instruction time.
