–To say the girl’s tennis team got hot yesterday is an understatement as the team took on the Holland Dutch in scorching conditions and beat them by a score of 4 to 3 1/2.  Even though dehydration and dizziness struck our team,  we still fought to score enough points to pull out the win.  Winning matches for Zeeland were:  Madalyn Hickey, Ella Hathaway, Carly Lukins, Elise Jackson.

–The 7th grade boys soccer team improved to a 6-0 record after an exciting game against Tri-Unity. It was a physical game the ended 3-2. Coach Andy is very proud of them! Keep up the good work boys!!

–Last night the 7th grade girls volleyball team played a very tough Hudsonville team and came away with a very hard fought and intense 2 games to 1 win, 26-24, 15-25, and 17-15. They played their most aggressive game of the year diving for many loose balls in order to save a point. Despite falling behind 9-4 in the 3rd and final game they stayed calm, played as a team and were able to keep working and come back to win the match, way to go ladies. Tomorrow they head to Grand Haven for a tournament.

Chix 7th grade football got of to a good start Wednesday at home with captains Evan Berghorst, Noah Valkema and Noah Caputo winning the coin toss.  This led to a spirited and improved defensive effort lead by our D-lineman Logan Klunder, Damion Holland,  Brayden Rivera (big smile after making his first game tackle), CJ Hoegen and Travis GoFourth.  We have worked hard to sure up our the containment issues on Defense and Sam Berens, Landon Deroo, Connor Tietema, Alex Dewitt and Clayton Martinez were all a big part of that improvement.  Offensively, Jace Fenlon and Jack Anderson continued to lead from the QB/RB position with running back Ryder Reimink getting into the end-zone for the second time this second and journey man Jayson Senneker dashing around end for the conversion.   Our O-Line is starting to take shape as the season reaches the midway point Reese Collins, Seth VanKampen, Kobe Fitzgerald Justin Bobeldyk and Nick Williams all starting to understand that teamwork and effort will lead us to success.   This being said the Chix team fell to the Wildcats 7-28.  Our next game is on the road with Grandville.  The 8th Grade Chix lost vs Rockford 26-12. Cebe Hunderman scored a TD on a kickoff return and Ian Bannach caught a TD pass from Tag Bonnema. Next week the Chix will be on the road @ Grandville
