–The club softball team played against a tough Byron Center team last night.  Katie Carlson and Sydni Leonard both had a single and Sydni also had a triple.  Unfortunately they came up a little short and lost 7-4.  The defense didn’t give up with Ashlyn Mendelsohn, Katie Carlson, Katelyn Lewis and Aliza Touch making some nice plays. Sydni pitched a good game with 6 strikeouts.  The girls had a tough time getting their bats going in the cold weather for the second game and didn’t get a single hit.  There were some good defensive plays made by Ashlyn, Aliza, Sydni and Katie with Katie working hard at the pitchers mound with 3 strikeouts.  They will be in action again today against Zeeland Christian at Helder Park.

–The 7th Grade Girls soccer team won their game against Holland Christian last night with a final score of 1-0. Lainey Canan scored the lone goal for the chix. Elly Hart had the assist. After that, the girls locked down the game and held off the Maroons for a win.
