–Tarazan Cast:  We need your scripts ASAP.  Please turn them into the office.
–There will not be Homework Party on Tuesday, November 21.
–Students: Reminder, if you bring your cell phone to school, you are to leave it in your locker.  We are now asking that you leave your cell phone OFF if it is in your locker. We are having issues with iPads not connecting to the internet because there are too many devices taking up our access points.  If cell phones are turned off, this will help tremendously.  Thank you for your help with this~ we need our iPads connecting for learning!
–Congratulations to the Over Clucked Bots Robotics Team, 11228! At their competition Saturday in Marshall, they were on the winning alliance and took home a first place trophy! Overall, team 11228 was Rank 2 with a record of 5-0-0. Over Clucked Bots came home with 2 trophies: The Judges Award and the Winning Alliance, as well a certificate securing their spot in the State Championship in December. Go, OCB!
–All Students: For all HOME sporting events, gates will be put up in the hallways, so you will not be able to get to your lockers during or after the games….PLEASE take what you need from your lockers when you leave the building after school.
–If you are interested in joining Cityside’s Ski Club  you can visit the ski club link on Cityside’s website or talk to Mrs. Maat or Mr. Blacquiere.  Please turn in your money and liability forms to Mrs. Maat (CBC room) by TOMORROW Tuesday November 21. 
 PARENTS’ INFORMATION—-

–We are reaching out to all the high schools and middle schools in the Holland-Zeeland area to let them know about the filming of Episode 3 of the PBS program “Inventing America” that will take place Friday night, Dec. 8, at Hope College. This episode will feature an audience Q&A with the Founding Fathers played by actors from Colonial Williamsburg. For more info click on the following:

— ELKS National Hoop Shoot Contest, free event for kids ages 8 through 13, Saturday Dec. 16, at Hope College Dow Center, more information.
–Hungry Howie’s Pizza Fundraiser. Citydside Special Education team will be selling Hungry Howie’s pizza certificates ($7 for 1-topping medium). This helps raise money for our spring trip. Please see one of our students or Mrs. Sluiter if you’re interested in purchasing any pizzas. Thanks for your support!
——SPORT SIGN-UPS:  New this year,  all signups will be done online in the Final Forms www.zeeland-mi.finalforms.com. Parents and students need to register once a year for all your sports you will be playing or think you might want to play. Please check your mail/spam mail for confirmation once you have originally signed into Final Forms to confirm your account.  You can also link Final Forms through the cityside.zps.org website under athletics, or you may pick up a hard copy of the Final Forms instructions by the CBC room or in the office at Cityside. Like in the past,  we need a current 2017-2018 physical dated from the doctor after April 15 of current year to be eligible for all sports. Thank you!
–Any message needing to get to a student must be received by 1:15pm.  We call students down at the beginning of their 6th hr during announcement so we are not disturbing classroom instruction time.
–If your child will not be in school you MUST call the attendance line at 748-3205. Reminder – if your child will be out of school, you may email their teachers, but you also need to call the attendance line or office. Thanks!

Orchestra & Choir Students: Your fundraiser products will be here on Monday!  If you placed a large order, please be sure to have a ride arranged for after school.   All products must go home on Monday!! Thank you
–The girls swim team had a victory last night against Spring Lake!  The final score was 90-66.  Taking first place in individual events were Katelyn Inman, Riley Sluiter, Carly Sleeman, and Rylee Brown.  The divers, Carly Sleeman, Hannah Nienhuis, and Ella Compagner, again scored the highest points, placing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.  Rylee Sluiter and Adelyn Oberst had outstanding performances with best times in both of their individual events.  Season best times were also achieved by Lauryn Hansen, Abby Heneveld, Ally Panavong, Morgan Selles, Marissa Brower, and Megan Thompson.
— Last night the 7th grade basketball team defeated the Bucs of Grand Haven 34-29.  Chayton Martinez led the way on defense with 4 steals. Will Baker paced the offense with 8 points.  The 8th grade basketball team defeated Grand Haven yesterday 52-33.  It was a total team effort with 7 guys scoring for the team.  The Chix host East Kentwood Crestwood home on Tuesday.

— ELKS National Hoop Shoot Contest, free event for kids ages 8 through 13, Saturday Dec. 16, at Hope College Dow Center, more information.

–The girls swim team competed against Hamilton last night and came home with a win.  The final score was 93-63.  The top scores came from diving.  Winning the event was Carly Sleeman, Ella Compagner was second, and Hannah Nienhuis was third.  Zeeland won both relays.  Elizabeth Safirt, Rylee Brown, Bri Johnson, and Fiona Boerman swam on the medley relay.  The free relay included Katelyn Inman, Delaney Ketchum, Fiona Boerman, and Rylee Sluiter.  Winning individual events were Katelyn Inman, Bri Johnson, and Rylee Sluiter.  Other swimmers who had strong races include Allie Head, Emma Boersma, Lillya Boetsma, Kinsey Inman, Natalie Kernstock, Ava Jacobsen, and Sam Assink.

–The 7th grade basketball team lost to West Ottawa last night 48-33.  Leading the way on offense, Ryder Reimink with 9 points & Jace Fenlon with 6 points.  The 8th grade basketball team lost to West Ottawa yesterday 27-54.  The 1-3 Chix host Grand Haven for a home game on Thursday.

 –Wednesday, Nov 15 is 6th grade Art Club.  We will be painting at our meeting.  Email Mrs. Kiwiet if you plan to attend.
