—CHIX BOYS BASKETBALL SKILLS CAMP
When: June 11-14 (2 hours a day)
Where: Zeeland East High School
Why: This camp is designed to work on skills to make your son become a better overall basketball player. The camp runs for two hours a day for 4 days. The camp is lead by the Varsity coaching staff and Varsity basketball players at Zeeland East. Players will leave the camp with a better understanding of the skills needed to become a better all around player. If your son loves the game or even if they are just now showing interest in playing basketball, this camp is for them.

–All 6th and 7th grade girls who are interested in sideline cheer
in the fall should plan on attending the cheer meeting next Thursday the 31st
in the Cityside Cafeteria. All are welcome, no experience is necessary! Email Coach Beka at email@example.com
if you have questions or if you are unable to attend the meeting.
–8th grade boys! There is a soccer meeting at 3:00 Thursday for players only. Players can turn in summer soccer forms at the meeting. After the meeting, instead of having training from 5:15-6:30 we will be hosting compassionate heart for an hour of soccer games and competitions from 3:45-4:45. If you can make it, GREAT! Bring any kind of supersoaker you might have!
Any boys interested in playing 7th or 8th grade soccer, there is a sign up sheet outside CBC.
-Lost and Found... It will be donated at the end of the school year so please check to make sure that what is in the Lost and Found is not yours…
–Students: For those who have been lifting at the high school for football, we will be wrapping up middle school program this week. We are lifting
Wednesday and will be closed Friday for Memorial weekend. We will start back up with EDGE in June.
–Homework Party: Homework Party last day is next week Thursday, May 31
–8th grade boys…This is for boys that are interested in playing JV or Varsity Soccer for the fall 2018 season. Yes 8th grade boys, that is YOU! We will be having a brief meeting May 31, 3:00-3:30pm in the East Cafeteria. We will be discussing a few last minute summer details and handing out Summer Soccer t-shirts. You will also be able to turn in registration for ZEST, Summer Scrimmages, and PSV. Parents do not need to come to this meeting they are welcome if they want. See you May 31.
-8th grade students and parents: To honor our 8th graders, we have a student event called Celebr8 on the last morning of school during the school day. We will honor our 8th graders with a breakfast and student gathering. The event is for students only, but parents may come from 10:30-10:45 if you wish to take pictures of your child with his or her friends at the end of the breakfast. We will miss this class of 8th graders!
–We are excited to announce that the futurePREP’d IChallengeUth Application is officially open. Students can start applying!The program this year will run from Monday, July 30 through Friday, August 3
. Students will be immersed in local businesses to help them solve a challenge utilizing design thinking and practicing their Skills4Success. Students can be in 6-8th grade for the program. Lunch is provided but students must have their own transportation. If this is an issue, please connect with us and we can hopefully help! —SPORT SIGN-UPS: All signups will be done online in the Final Forms www.zeeland-mi.finalforms.com. Parents and students need to register once a year for all your sports you will be playing or think you might want to play. Please check your mail/spam mail for confirmation once you have originally signed into Final Forms to confirm your account. You can also link Final Forms through the cityside.zps.org website under athletics, or you may pick up a hard copy of the Final Forms instructions by the CBC room or in the office at Cityside. Like in the past we need a current 2018-2019 physical dated from the doctor after April 15 of current year to be eligible for all sports. Thank you!
–Any message needing to get to a student must be received by 1:15pm. We call students down at the beginning of their 6th hr during announcement so we are not disturbing classroom instruction time.
–If your child will not be in school you MUST call the attendance line at 748-3205. Reminder – if your child will be out of school, you may email their teachers, but you also need to call the attendance line or office. Thanks!
